Twenty one years after The Wealthy Barber became a phenomenon, David Chilton is coming out with a sequel next year. The book made him very wealthy — the book was self-published — but despite all his successes unlike many other personal finance gurus (I’m not naming names), Mr. Chilton is humorous, funny and down-to-earth in this interview with CBC’s George Stroumboulopoulos:
- The Toronto Star has launched a new personal finance website called Moneyville featuring blogs by Ellen Roseman and others. In one of the articles published on the site author David Chilton explains why so many people are afflicted with what he calls the “Diderot effect”.

- Preet Banerjee questions if even the TSX Composite Index accurately reflects the Canadian stock market. Perhaps not. But as one reader pointed out, you don’t no choice but to sample the market.
- Michael James on Money points out why frequent rebalancing may not be profitable. I simply put new money and portfolio income in a lagging asset class.
- Million Dollar Journey ran a guest post on the discussions held at the Canadian Apartment Investment Conference.
